Bibble 5 is discontinued, from now it is Corel AfterShot Pro

Yesterday appered information on Bibblelabs forums that Bibble labs were purchased by Corel last year and that Bibble 5.2.3 is last version of Bibble. Further information are to be presented on CES 2012 next week.

On same forums today user andysalay posted information that he found product page for ancestor of Bibble – Corel AfterShot Pro.

As you can see on screenshot it is in fact rebranded Bibble 5. According to information from andysalay current version of Corel After Shot Pro is in beta stage.

It’s not beta, Michal – you can buy it right now.

It is still not accessible from main page, still not listed in products. My guess is it will be published later. Also people who are testing it call that beta or preproduction bersion.

I have downloaded trial version and it works nicely, howewer there are still some bugs. Also DNG support mentioned in tech spechs is not working now.

But it is on good way I think, Bibblelabs have great product but they seemd to lack resources, which might change now with Corel.

Also the price seems to be Ok, it is less than Lightroom upgrade:-)

Question is current B5 users are willing to pay 70 euro for “upgrade”, for me it seems like B5.5 maybe:-)

And handling jpeg+raw as one file is still missing!:-) This is feature from B4 which was never ported to B5.
